Substitute Teachers/Nurses

SUBSTITUTE TEACHING INFORMATION
To substitute teach within the Clinton School District, you must be on file as a substitute teacher (an application packet can be found to the left or above on a mobile device).

The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education requires all substitutes to apply for their own substitute certificates through the department's website, https://dese.mo.gov/educator-quality/certification/substitute-teachers (DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS ON THIS PROCESS CAN BE FOUND TO THE LEFT OR ABOVE ON A MOBILE DEVICE).

As of August 2020, there are currently two paths to receiving a substitute teaching certificate.
1). Complete 60 hours of college credit.
2). Complete 20 hours of online training. This pathway was approved by the the State Board of Education as an alternative to the previous requirement of 60 hours of college credit. This emergency rule will take effect on September 2, 2020.

SUBSTITUTE NURSES (LPN OR RN), PARAPROFESSIONALS AND CROSSING GUARDS
In addition to substitute teachers, the Clinton School District utilizes substitutes for paraprofessionals, nursing staff and crossing guards.
