District Raises Substitute Teacher PayAt the November 11th, regularly scheduled school board meeting, the board approved raising the substitute teacher pay rate by $25 per day. Substitute teachers will now be paid $115 per day for the remainder of this school year.

Also, Bright Futures Clinton understands the crucial need for positive adult role models in children's lives, and the critical need for substitute teachers to provide continuity of instruction during this global pandemic.

In an effort to reduce the substitute teacher shortage, Bright Futures Clinton is partnering with the Clinton School District to offer a reimbursement of substitute teaching certificate fees to qualifying substitute teacher applicants.

To be considered for reimbursement of fees associated with receiving a substitute teaching certificate, a substitute teacher would need to fulfill the following criteria:

*Individuals with 60+ college hours are able to apply for a substitute teaching certificate. The $50 fee associated with this certificate would be reimbursed to the applicant after three (3) full days of substitute teaching in the Clinton School District.

*Individuals with a high school diploma or GED, are able to apply for a substitute teaching certificate by completing 20 hours of online training. The $225 fee associated with this certificate would be reimbursed to the applicant after seven (7) full days of substitute teaching.

*Individuals who apply for their substitute teaching certificate after November 4th, are eligible to be considered for reimbursement of fees.
